Free Rice allows players to play and feed the hungry. By playing, you personally help feed hungry people with rice donations through the World Food Programme to help end hunger. Players select from 6 subject areas: Art, Chemistry, English, Geography, Language Learning and Math. As you play you get to see a virtual bowl fill with grains of rice as you correctly answer questions in the chosen categories. Each correct answer donates 10 grains of rice. The game allows you to remember your personal rice donation total from your game so that you can acquire a cumulative total with other times played.
The Art category has players matching painters with beautiful art masterpieces. You get to see stunning paintings while acquiring an education in Art History. Players can spend time matching paintings to works of art while simultaneously accumulating numerous grains of rice, thereby providing food aid at the same time to help eliminate hunger. This “win-win” situation continues throughout the game as you identify chemical symbols, testing your chemical skills in the Chemistry category; grammar skills in English Grammar; learn French, German, Italian and Spanish vocabulary in Language Learning; acquire and reinforce basic math (pre-Algebra) skills and/or multiplication tables in Math, and test your geography skills by trying to identify countries around the world in Geography. Free Rice is a great educational quiz for people of all ages. You get to feel pleased with yourself as you learn while also feeling happy about making a positive difference in helping to feed the hungry.
