Changing Blooms: Ecology Game
The new environmental game “Changing Blooms” allows you to build a virtual garden.

Human activities are impacting wildlife and their habitat resulting in disappearance of ecosystems. In this game you have a chance to make a positive impact on fragile habitats by creating ponds, planting trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables creating areas for species to thrive. ‘Changing Blooms’ facilitates understanding of the benefits of having certain sustainable habitat features in either: a city, garden, the countryside, or in the ponds and the wildlife that they attract.
The player chooses an outline shape for their own virtual ‘wildlife haven’ by clicking on square(s) to highlight it and select a habitat item from the “Add Item” examples include: flowers, shrubs, trees, vegetable patch, bird-box, birdtable, birdbath, compost bin, concrete, grass, logpile and pond. As you make your choices you are provided with “information” and a “tutorial” by clicking on icons which teach about the important vegetation, insects, birds, reptiles, and wildlife of sustainable habitats for healthy ecosystems.
